Ashley and Cheryl Cole's ‘will they, won't they?' relationship has been the talk of the town ever since Ashley, 30, rocked up to Cheryl's 28th birthday bash in June.
But in a surprising twist, Now can reveal that he dropped the biggest bombshell on the 28-year-old singer last week.
He said they should end their reunion as he's worried that he can't stay faithful.
‘Ashley and Cheryl's relationship has never been fully back on,' says a pal.
‘While she vowed to give him another chance, he had six months to prove how much he wanted her back.
'She promised not to make it official until she could see how serious he was.
'But in a shock phone call last weekend, Ashley told Cheryl he couldn't risk hurting her again and didn't trust himself to commit to her 100 per cent.'
